| OB StreetFest 1st shift | Sa 10/11 | 1–5:00p | Volunteers are needed to help run our tent at Streetfest. Our tent will be located near Hood and Broadview. 1st shift will set up the tent and items to sell. You will be selling honey, jam, cook books, garden swag and stickers. | OB StreetFest 2nd shift | Sa 10/11 | 4:30–8:30p | Volunteers are needed to help run our tent at Streetfest. Our tent will be located near Hood and Broadview. 2nd shift will relieve the 1st shift volunteers. You will be selling honey, jam, cook books, garden swag and stickers. We will have some free seeds to give away and brochures about the garden how to get a plot. At the end of the event you will help pack up the garden goods and tent. | Final Cleanup 2nd shift | Su 10/12 | 10a–1:00p | Volunteers will remove all the name boards and brown plot markers, they will assist in cleaning and storing the name boards and plot markers. | https://signup.com/go/ZSMfwei |
Suggestions for tasks you can do on your own time:
- Remove vines from alleyway fence / cut mulberry saplings (avoid poison ivy around yellow garage)
- Remove saplings growing along Tampa fence
- Clean up sweet gum balls along Tampa
- Weed / water perennial beds (around shed and bee cage)
- Sweep leaves and debris around shed
In keeping with the intention and meaning of a community garden, and in an effort to defray costs and maximize grant awards, each Gardener and Co-Gardener is required to donate a minimum of five (5) hours per plot toward the operation, maintenance, and promotion of the Garden. Hours are recorded in the Volunteer Service Log. In lieu of volunteer hours, a donation to OBCDC's Garden Fund of $25/hr minimum is required. (Rule 12)
